Hybrid Schedule

A new schedule has been implemented at Pisgah called a "hybrid schedule".  This five-block schedule provides students with additonal classes that were not offered in previous years.  The students still have a possibility of eight credits a year.  Classes are 75 minuts in length, which enable the teachers and students to make the best use of time in teaching and learning the required content.  The "hybrid schedule" has enabled the opportunity to offer a variety of elective classes.  These classes provide enrichment experiences and extra time for learning depending on the interests and needs of the students.  The many options available to students include assistance with learning, taking Advance Placement courses, or specific interest classes such as string music, art, debate, the stock market, fishing, outdoors, scrabble, chess, photography, cake decorating, pioneer living, broadcasting, multi media productions, woodwork, documentaries and classic literature movies, dance, logic puzzles, scholars bowl, math team or science experiments.  Each of these educational opportunities provide students with choice in their academic schedules.  The outcome of implementing this schedule is to help all students improve academic achievement and attitudes towards school.  It is our goal that each student not only enjoy there time at Pisgah High School, but also be prepared for entry into the work force or higher education after high school.  To ensure that  our students obtain this goal we are fortunate to have a highly qualified and dedicated staff that continously works to provide our students with research based instruction with a focus on student engagment.  We are also fortunate to have teachers with the ability to offer classes to students such as music, art, broadcasting, etc...
